
Dr. Joseph P. Bark, Dermatologist
Board-certified by the American Board of Dermatology in 1977, Dr. Bark is a member of several prestigious medical societies, including:
Dr. Bark is also a prominent and deeply involved member of his community, having served as the president of multiple organizations, such as
A patron of the arts, he is also a Lexington Philharmonic board member, as well
as a board member and chair for the Actors Guild of Lexington. Currently, Dr.
Bark is co-chair of the District Rotary Foundation Committee for district 6740,
as well as a member of the executive committee of the Hellenic Ideals Program.
A nationally-known radio and television personality, he has had his work cited in hundreds of familiar magazines and serves on the advisory board of Men’s Fitness Magazine. He co-founded the National Association of Physician Broadcasters (now the Association of Medical Communicators) and is a spokesperson for the American Academy of Dermatology Public Information Department. On a local level, Dr. Bark created "Doctor Talk" on WKYT in Lexington, KY and is featured in weekly dermatologic educational spots on "News at 12:30" on WLEX-TV, Lexington, and on "Afternoon," from WKYT-TV, Lexington. In his spare time, Dr. Bark enjoys motorcycling, traveling the globe, and scuba-diving, a hobby in which he has also received instructor certification. Another leisure activity, photography, has garnered awards for the doctor and his work has been featured in two gallery exhibitions. Dr. Bark and his wife, Linda, continue to reside in Lexington.
